A Blog Is Guilt-Free Communication

Posted by Ted Hopton on January 29, 2008

I’ve figured out one of the reasons I like blogging: I’m not pestering anyone. If people want to read what I have to say or look at the articles I recommend, they can and will. But if they aren’t interested, they simply won’t come back here.

In contrast, if I send my friend an email that says, “Look at this great article! I think you’ll like it!” then I have just tossed something to do on my friend’s schedule. So, since I used to be one of those people who emailed links to articles that I thought people would find interesting, I now find myself enjoying the way blogging has changed that dynamic. I just wanted to share things I thought they would appreciate, anyway, and now all of that is in the blog. If you’re interested, you’ll check it now and then to see. If not, I’ll never know and it doesn’t matter.
